Sunday Platform - Anne Klaeysen: Winter Reflections

Sunday, December 2, 2018 - 11:00am
Ceremonial Hall - 4th floor

This year it felt like we charged headlong into winter from summer without any break for a transitional autumn. Suddenly we were rooting around in our closets for sweaters and coats, and soon it will be time for boots and mittens. Let us take a moment for a deep collective breath to reflect upon our lives in the midst of global climate change and political upheaval. What grounds us and what inspires us to carry on the ethical mission to which we have committed ourselves?

Shared Charity: This week’s shared charity, the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS), stands for a world in which refugees find welcome, safety, and freedom. HIAS rescues people whose lives are in danger for being who they are — protecting the most vulnerable refugees, helping them build new lives, and reuniting them with their families; and assuring that displaced people are treated with the dignity they deserve.
