Sunday Meeting - Regaining Equilibrium at the Equinox

Curt Collier, Leader
Dr. Anne Klaeysen Presides
Ceremonial Hall

A desire for harmony and balance are themes that have imbued human culture for thousands of years. Whether echoed in celebrations of the equinox, spiritual themes such as the Tao and yin/yang, musical motifs such as harmonic resonance, artistic forms and compositions, or simply a desire to live a life more in "balance," the desire to find the middle space is ancient and seemingly innate and cross-cultural. But what is this longing for equilibrium, and how do we reconcile it with the dynamics of life that constantly moves us towards the edge?

During this celebration of the equinox, let us take a moment to explore the human longing for harmony and harvest what unique insights into the human psyche the exploration of this subject can afford.
