Topic: Should I kill myself or have a cup of coffee?

The Stoic School of Life is inspired by the ancient Greco-Roman schools of philosophy. Plato, Aristotle, Epicurus, Epictetus, and many others simply gave lectures about their favorite topics, and engaged in Socratic discussions with people

The Existentialist philosopher Albert Camus famously said that suicide is the only serious philosophical question. As in “why not?” Surprisingly, the Stoics had a view on the meaning of life, and on suicide, that is not that far from that of the Existentialists.

At this meeting we will explore the parallels between Existentialism and Stoicism, talk about the meaning of life and where it comes from, and take a look at Epictetus’ famous “open door” policy, which tells you if and when you should quit.
