We continue to read and discuss one of the foundational texts of ancient Stoicism, The Manual of Epictetus. Written by Arrian of Nicomedia, one of Epictetus' students, it is a short summary of fundamental Stoic ideas about how to live a good life.

I will be using the modern translation by Robin Hard, available here. But there are many good ones that are freely available on the internet, for instance the one by Thomas Wentworth Higginson.
