Supervised Visitation Project

For over 23 years, the Social Service Board’s Supervised Visitation Program (SVP) has been offering free services for families and children in need. Supervised visits are court-ordered in situations where there is a history of child abuse, domestic violence, neglect, drug abuse or mental illness. Rather than eliminating contact, family court judges order supervised visitation to allow non-custodial parents to spend time with their children in a structured and therapeutic environment. Other organizations provide supervised visitation services for $100 or more per hour. For parents with limited income, who need to see their children on a weekly basis, these costs are prohibitive. SVP provides all services free of charge, including mandatory support groups for custodial parents and non-custodial parents. Without our program, these families might never have an opportunity to heal.  Download our brochure.

Support the SVP!

We have received a generous challenge grant of $5,000. With each pledge, we move closer to meeting that challenge. However our work is far from over. The SVP operates on $60,000 per year. In order to ensure that this program continues serving families in need, we must look to our donors for support.GIVE ONLINE NOW and know that your generosity will help more families find their way back to each other and keep this important program running for the foreseeable future. When giving online, make sure to note that your contribution is for the SVP.
