Music at the Society
In residence at the New York Society for Ethical Culture since 1999, the Strathmere Ensemble was founded by bassist John T. Kulowitsch in 1996.

Gerald Ranck, Ethical Culture's Music Director and a member of the Strathmere Ensemble.
The ensemble is composed of active freelance musicians from the New York City area. Core members include Mitsuru Tsubota and Mayuki Fukuhara, violin; Louise Schulman, viola; Daire FitzGerald, violoncello; John T. Kulowitsch, double bass; Gerald Ranck, harpsichord and piano; Alan Cox, flute; Gerard Reuter, oboe; William Blount, clarinet; Martin Kuuksmann, bassoon; RJ Kelley, horn; David Taylor, trombone;Bill Zito, lute and guitar; and Mary Westbrook, mezzo-soprano.
