Ethics and the Theater will present Autumn Quartet, a new play by Emily Jon Mitchell. In the autumn of life, four old friends come together in a seaside resort hotel room to discover they must test anew the boundaries of friendship and love. The exploration of their memories probes the meaning of life and death. While mindful of a shared past, they come to understand and cope with the necessity of change. Two variations on the performance of this short one-act play will reveal different perspectives on the feelings and emotions lying beneath the surface of these relationships.
Participate in a discussion following the play of the ethical issues it raises, led by Carol Van Deusen.
Richard Van Deusen directs. Cast: Abraham Alvarez, Patricia Bruder Debrovner, Steve Elmore, and Sue Ellen Mandell. Pat Berens narrates. The suggested donation is $5.
