Sunday Meeting - Steven Hassan: Undue Influence in The Digital Age: How to Protect Yourself and Others
Sunday, October 22, 2017 - 11:00am
Ceremonial Hall - 4th floor

Only you should be in control of your mind! To do so, you need to know yourself, know how the mind works, and how to be open to learn and grow but protect yourself from predators and cults.

Social Psychology, Neuroscience, Artificial Intelligence, data collection and profiling, covert hypnosis and NLP have ushered in an age of unprecedented capacity to influence billions of people the world over in moments. This talk will build on my two previous talks with a focus on understanding mind control, brainwashing and undue influence with a focus on what we as citizens can do to protect ourselves, our loved ones, and make positive, ethical social change to protect human rights, our freedom of mind and the planet.

Steven Hassan is a licensed mental health counselor who has written on the subject of mind control and how to help people who have been harmed by the experience. He has been helping people exit destructive cults since 1976. He has appeared on the TV news programs 60 Minutes, Nightline, and Dateline, and is a published author and lecturer. Hassan is a former member of the Unification Church, and he founded Ex-Moon Inc. in 1979 before assisting with involuntary deprogrammings in association with the Cult Awareness Network. In 1999 Hassan developed what he describes as non-coercive methods to help members of cults to quit their groups.

Ethics for Children: Zombie Research Society
Sunday, October 22, 2017 - 11:00am
Elliott Library, Room 507

This week:

In this season of Halloween, curiosity and playful-minds may recognize this opportunity of connecting Zombies & Ethics with  wonder. Free membership paraphernalia from the official Zombie Research Society will be distributed to welcome you, as we spin ethics of self-care and community-care through the Zombie-medium.  This Zombie Research Society platform was similarly used by the FDA to galvanize the American public more effectively then ever, toward their goal of "disaster preparedness," several years ago.

In our children's gathering, we will be exploring through archetypal play acting, our own potential and preparedness to become helpful daily heroes,  to be givers instead of takers, to awaken the potential of our own full humanity! We will play-act the zombie-character of our collective imaginations, ultimately to then transform through a rest-n-motion Yoga-n-play based experience that awakens us from zoned-out expression into fully engaged human. What does it mean to be yourself in your full humanity? To awaken the activated helpful hero within you? To activate?!

Every week:

11am: Ceremonial Hall, 4th floor - Ethical's inclusive community gathers for greetings and music.

11:15am: Adults and teens may choose to stya for the Morning Meeting. Children will be led to Elliott Library on the 5th floor for an independent project of friendship, creativity, and deed.

12:30pm: Pick-up on the 5th floor or on the playground (6th floor) weather permitting.

Lunch & Social Hour (Cafeteria, 6th floor). Children and teens always eat free! Complimentary lunch for first-time newcomer parents/caregivers.

12:30-2pm Family playground time (6th floor), weather permitting.
