Our History
“Without 'ethical culture' there is no salvation for humanity."- Albert Einstein
2010 marked the 100th anniversary of our beautiful landmark building, a permanent home for the New York Society for Ethical Culture. We celebrated with a Rededication Ceremony and reception, one hundred years to the day - October 23, 2010, with a keynote address by David Brancaccio, a Proclamation from Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer, and remarks from other distinguished guests. In addition we had a series of events throughout the year to highlight contemporary ethical concerns and introduce new people to Ethical Culture and to our beautiful and historic building on Central Park West.
Entry to our 100-year-old building and meeting rooms is available for most wheelchair users with prior arrangements. Please call ahead (212-874-5210 x 107) for setup of our portable system and plan to arrive one hour before start time.
