Grace with the Leader
Tuesday, March 4
Senior Leader Tony Hileman will be part of a discussion panel following the performance of Grace at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. A NYSEC discount has been arranged for this special evening as well as for all performances January 23—March 8.
Featuring Lynn Redgrave in the title role, Grace is a frank and intellectually stirring examination of familial intimacy, seen through the distorting lens of disparate theological perspectives. Grace Friedman is a mother, a wife, and a brilliant professor. Her bold assertions on the “absurdity” of religion have propelled her to center stage in the public debate over the existence of God. But Grace’s private calm is severely shaken when her son, Tom, announces a career change from civil rights attorney to priest.
Tickets may be purchased at www.ticketcentral.com or by calling 212-279-4200. The NYSEC discount code is HUMN.

The Gods Must Be Crazy (1980), directed by Jamie Uys. This film is hailed as a classic comedy about Africa which subtly challenges the belief that white civilization has all the answers. It provides an eclectic combination of slapstick, gentle humor, wonderful music, brilliant wildlife and scenic shots, all beautifully woven into a delightful on-the-road piece about the adventures of a bushman as he journeys to return a coke bottle he believes one of the gods has dropped from heaven.
Discussion after the film will be led by Sue Dye. Admission: $5 donation requested to cover the cost of coffee, soda, and popcorn.
