The God Committee, by Mark St. Germaine. "For someone to live, someone must die.” That is the basic and tragic fact of organ donation. The decision as to who gets to live as the recipient of a donated organ is not an easy one. It is the organ transplant team of surgeons, psychiatrists, social workers and members of the hospital board that makes these life and death decisions – the God Committee. This play takes us through the process and into the minds, fears and conflicts of these very human people. Discussion follows.
Cast: Jerry Chamlin, Chuck Debrovner, Barbara Fennell, Susanna Frazer, John Gurney and Vince Navarro. Richard Van Deusen will direct, and Carol Nadell Van Deusen will be the moderator. Admission: $5.
