Ethics and the Theater
Wednesday, June 27
7:00 - 9:00 PM
Ceremonial Hall - 4th Floor
Ethics and the Theater will present Wendy Wassersteins The Heidi Chronicles. This play takes a wry, funny, and astringent look at how strong, talented women cope with what is still, in many respects, a mans world. Through Heidi, an art history professor whose passion is bringing underappreciated female artists the attention and appreciation they deserve, Wasserstein, a prolific commendator on American society gives us an at times hysterically funny but always unsentimental portrayal of antiwar activism, the womens liberation movement, the AIDS crisis, and the limitations of both marriage and sisterhood.
Member Barry Snider directs. The cast: Betsy Ungar, Mark Hofmaier, Susanna Frazer, Scott Willett, Jennifer Fouche, Linda Moody, Amber Doswell, Gemma Fearn, Caroline Gaynor, Tonia Mueller, Jonathan Schlieman, and Camilla Maxwell.
Pat Berens will lead a group discussion on the ethical issues raised in the play. Suggested donation: members $5; nonmembers $10.
