The Accused (1988), directed by Jonathan Kaplan, which was based on the true story of Sarah Tobias, the fast-food waitress who was the victim of a gang-rape in a bar and was accused of provoking the attack by her sexy dress and behavior. Jodie Foster, in an Oscar-winning role, portrays Sarah Tobias, who makes strong demands for justice for the assault. Kelly McGillis stars as the prosecutor, Kathryn Murphy, who decides to prosecute the spectators in the bar for cheering on the attackers. This riveting film is rife with legal and moral issues. Richard Bruno will lead the discussion. Members $3. Nonmembers $4.
