NYSEC Film Forum will present On The Town (1949). This film is the classic “boy meets girl, boy loses girl” fable set to music, in which three sailors on a twenty-four hour shore leave find themselves for the first time in the Big City – New York.
Cheryl Gross and David and Valerie Leiman, will host the evening, introduce the film, and lead a lively discussion with the audience following the showing. Admission is $3.00 for members and $4.00 for nonmembers.

Digital cameras and scanners have opened horizons never before available to amateur photographers, but they also demand new skills. This photography workshop will give you advice about your equipment and sharpen your eye to basic elements of the fine images: composition, lighting, color, depth, texture, movement, and impact, so that your photos will more truly reflect your vision.
Instructor Larry Yates, a NYSEC member, is President of the Manhattan Miniature Camera Club, and Vice-President of the Metropolitan Camera Club Council. Larry judges and presents regularly at regional camera clubs. His own photos have won numerous awards, both regionally and nationally.

NYSEC, the Social Service Board, and Unforgotten Voices, a creative workshop directed by Judith Ginsburg, will present works by a collective of visual and performing artists who are or have been homeless, or are otherwise living on the edge. There will be singers, dancers, musicians, and artists, all sharing their talents and joy. Please join us for a wonderful and inspiring evening. Admission is free, and refreshments will be served.

Long Day’s Journey Into Night, Eugene O’Neill’s Pulitzer Prize-winning theater classic. The play dramatizes the struggle of the two sons of a retired matinee idol and his morphine-addicted wife to survive the family’s past failures and its present painful truths. Director Elaine Berman. Muriel Berger will lead the discussion.
