The Society is proud to be hosting the first annual Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls, a non-profit day camp for girls and young women (ages 8-18) of all backgrounds and from all parts of New York City. The program offers the chance to learn how to play musical instruments, write songs, perform, and participate in team-building activities in a supportive environment that fosters self-esteem, self-confidence, creativity, tolerance, and collaboration.
Volunteer opportunities for adults: musicians and non-musicians needed; F/T, P/T; female musicians and male support staff. The deadline for applications was Friday, June 3. Go to williemaerockcamp.org for more information and application and financial aid forms.
